Issues facing fundraisers to be examined by survey

27/05/08

The Resource Alliance, a British charity dedicated to building the fundraising capabilities of the non-profit sector worldwide, has launched a survey into issues facing fundraisers across Europe, it has been reported.

According to website Third Sector, the charity will embark upon the survey with the help of Blackbaud Europe, a provider of software solutions for non-profit organisations.

Open to organisations in the UK, France, Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland, the survey will detail participants' top fundraising techniques, their methods of communication with donors and their predictions for future fundraising income.

The website reports that Simon Collings, chief executive of the Resource Alliance, said: 'It is about getting insights into how fundraisers in a number of European countries are thinking.'

'It is enormously useful if you are a fundraiser to be able to compare your own judgements about where best to invest with those of your peers. It is also useful to be able to gauge how far the challenges you face, for instance in terms of IT systems, are typical of your sector.'

Earlier this year, the Resource Alliance introduced a 15-day certification course at B-schools in Ahmedabad, India, to help local people learn the best ways of raising funds for non-profit organisations.
