The UK Catalyst Awards are the result of a collaboration between Make Your Mark, a youth enterprise campaign funded by the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR), and a number of other organisations. The awards are intended to recognise the use of technology for social good and will comprise nine categories. A spokesperson for Make Your Mark told Third Sector: 'The exciting part of this project is that we don't really know what we are expecting to find.' 'These kinds of ideas no longer exclusively sit within the tech world, and my guess is that there are social activists across the UK using technology to benefit communities in lots of different ways.'
