WaterAid boosts charity fundraising with ToiletFinder iPhone app30/11/09 Written by Isabel Griffith. A world aid organisation has launched a new piece of software that could improve its charity fundraising. WaterAid has released the ToiletFinder application for Apple's iPhone, which allows users to view their nearest public toilet on a map or in a list. Users maintain and update the app's database, flagging up new or missing toilets. It can be downloaded via iTunes and has reached number 14 in the iPhone app lifestyle category. ToiletFinder was developed by French company BeTomorrow and can be downloaded for free. Commenting on the charity fundraising initiative, the WaterAid site states: 'It costs from just £15 to provide one person with clean water and safe sanitation, so please, if you can, make a donation to WaterAid today.' The application was launched as part of World Toilet Day on November 19th. According to the charity, 2.5 billion people worldwide do not have somewhere private and hygienic to go to the toilet.
