Video website doubles charity fundraising target02/11/09 Written by Sally O'Connell. A new website hopes to bring in £500 million through charity fundraising online, it has been revealed. According to Third Sector, Seethedifference.org has doubled its initial fundraising target of £250 million ahead of its official launch next year. The charity fundraising website will host videos from a number of non-profit organisations with a view to boosting their campaigns and is run by the charity of the same name. It is thought the website raised its target after higher levels of demand from voluntary organisations. Founder and chair Dominic Vallely commented:'See the Difference is about engaging people with the world's charities - it is about using stories to bring the amazing things that charities do to life.' The main focus of the charity fundraising approach is to allow donors to see where their money has gone and to engage more directly with them through the medium of video and new technologies such as online social networking. Videos on the website will be ordered in categories such as laughter, care, respect, dignity, freedom, warmth, shelter and water. Users will be able to recommend causes to each other in a new, interactive environment that could see technology pushed to the forefront of new charity fundraising solutions in the future.
