A social networking website has launched a new foundation that could boost third sector fundraising.

StudyVox announced that Kylie Minogue is to become a patron of its new StudyVox Foundation, a charity that aims to channel funds into supporting undergraduate students by paying their tuition fees.

The StudyVox Foundation website uses technology to boost its charity fundraising potential and also aims to raise awareness of the issues faced by students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Kylie Minogue commented: 'Studyvox is such a fantastic site for students.

'It will be a great honour to present the first bursaries on behalf of The Studyvox Foundation. Having visited the headquarters, I know it is a very worthwhile and exciting venture.'

One award of £10,000 and three awards of £2,000 will be presented to students in spring 2010.

StudyVox was launched in 2007 and encourages students to use technology to keep in touch.

It re-launched its website in September 2009.
