Strummer Christmas card boosts online charity fundraising21/12/09 Written by Isabel Griffith. The last Christmas card drawn by late rock musician Joe Strummer is set to boost charity online finance, it has been reported. According to the Press Association, Strummerville - The Joe Strummer Foundation for New Music has reproduced the card and is selling it via its website in order to boost its charity fundraising. Being sold exclusively online, the card features a Christmas tree, a series of camp fires and a sailing boat. The card is available in a pack of six for £10, of which the charity has printed just 500. Charity websites are becoming a more and more popular way for organisations to boost their fundraising potential. Joe Strummer died in 2002 after suffering a fatal heart attack and Strummerville was founded as a platform for new music. The charity has provided financing for over 40 bands to record their music so far in 2009, its website states. It also hosts campfire sessions at festivals such as Glastonbury and Frankstock.
