SocialVibe launches Halloween charity fundraising scheme27/10/09 Written by Matthew Carter. Online donations network SocialVibe is set to launch a new charity fundraising initiative for Halloween. Click 4 Good is a virtual scheme geared towards generating funds for important non-profit organisations across the globe with the click of a button. Users can visit a virtual neighbourhood, clicking on houses that correspond to different charities. Individuals are then asked to share information via Facebook, MySpace, Bebo and Twitter in exchange for a donation to their chosen organisation, meaning that the initiative does not cost the user at all. SocialVibe chief executive Jay Samit commented on Click 4 Good: 'Social Networks are a powerful platform for social change by empowering millions of users to encourage their friends to get involved.' 'Through Click 4 Good, the focus of Halloween shifts from sharing candy to virally being able to share with those in need,' Mr Samit added. The charity fundraising scheme is expected to run until November 1st and will benefit a number of organisations, including charity: water, Stand Up 2 Cancer, Keep A Child Alive and the Surfrider Foundation. SocialVibe was founded last year and since then has raised some $700,000 (£427,000) for more than forty charities. This news item is © CTT Copyright
