SanDisk and Joe Perry team up in charity fundraising initiative03/12/09 Written by Isabel Griffith. The sale of technology could boost charity fundraising for a music education initiative. IT firm SanDisk has teamed up with Aerosmith guitarist and co-founder Joe Perry to support the Grammy Foundation's Grammy in the Schools programme, which encourages talented young people to pursue a career in music. According to the company, $1 from the sale of its slotRadio storage cards between now and the end of January 2010 will go towards the charity. Commenting on the charity fundraising drive, Mr Perry said: 'The fact that part of the proceeds are going to the Grammy Foundation and helping to bring music back into the schools is something that I can't say enough about.' 'It's great to be a part of this,' he added. The Grammy Foundation was founded in 1989 in order to promote understanding and appreciation of recorded music. Customers purchasing a slotRadio card could be funding any number of the foundation's projects, including its annual Grammy camp, a residential summer camp for promising musicians.
