As part of a Gift Aid awareness week, the PDSA is promoting the fact that donors can sign up to the scheme at the charity's website, in addition to doing so over the phone or by filling in a form in-store. Gift Aid offers a tax-effective way for individuals to donate to UK charities, and the PDSA maintains that so far it has raised nearly £500,000 through the scheme. David Facer, head of trading at PDSA, told Third Sector: 'Feedback about Gift Aid from our supporters has been fantastic.' 'And people are also delighted when they find out how much their donated goods have helped to raise - something that charity shops have never been able to tell them before.'
