PC race to boost fundraising for non-for-profits31/12/09 Written by Isabel Griffith. A group of computer enthusiasts will use their knowledge of technology to boost charity fundraising in the New Year. Employees from key companies including Intel, Systemax, Microsoft and Sony will generate cash for charity at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on January 7th. Taking part in the 13th annual Build Your Own PC Race for Charity, the technology experts will race to see who can build a top-of-the-range computer in the quickest time. The winner bags a $10,000 (£6,196) cash donation for the charity of their choice. Gilbert Fiorentino, Systemax technology products group chief executive, commented: 'We are proud to continue this long-tradition of giving back to organisations nationwide. 'With 13 years under our belt, the race continues to be an important part of our company and we look forward to many more in the future.' The event is also harnessing the power of technology to boost charity fundraising by streaming the event live over the internet from the Charity PC Race homepage. This news item is © CTT Copyright
