Party website expands online fundraising for charities24/12/09 Written by Matthew Carter. An organisation based in Leeds could boost online charity fundraising as it expands its service. Parties Around the World (PAW) currently raises money for the third sector through children's birthday parties, but will diversify to include adult gatherings too. Individuals organising a party are able to set up a dedicated webpage listing their charity of choice and allowing guests to make anonymous donations. The initiative harnesses the power of technology in order to boost fundraising for charities and PAW is looking to expand its range of partner charities in the near future. Leeds businesswoman and PAW co-founder Deirdre Bounds said: 'We have been delighted with the response from users of the original concept for children, but we have had so many grown-ups asking for their own version that we decided to go ahead and launch it.' A chosen charity receives up to 115 per cent of the total money raised after gift aid is added. PAW also features a parents' forum, allowing adults to discuss the website's features and the best ways to improve the charity fundraising platform. This news item is © CTT Copyright
