The charity has already redesigned shops in upmarket Westbourne Grove, Chelsea and Chiswick High Road in May and June this year. Talking about the move, the charity said they hoped it would attract a different clientele and allow them to reach out to a new audience. Explaining the decision, an Oxfam spokesman said: 'We wanted to experiment and try to reach a new audience, while keeping our existing customers.' He continued: 'We are not changing the brand; we just felt the boutique, vintage look would help us keep on trend.' It is not yet known which stores the charity will target next for their refurbishment project. Oxfam is currently running a program that allows supporters to recycle their mobile phones. The charity take any unwanted phones, iPods, PDAs and digital cameras and transform them into 'money for tools, seeds and schoolbooks' among other things.
