Oxfam to improve third sector fundraising through price comparison site18/02/10 Written by Matthew Carter. Oxfam has launched a new price comparison website that could dramatically boost its online third sector fundraising. Compare for Good, which went live yesterday (February 17th), allows customers to compare prices for financial and insurance products while also donating to the organisation. It will give more than two-thirds of the commission raised through the transactions to Oxfam and is a first for the third sector. The move represents a growing trend of charities turning to technology and the internet to bolster their charity fundraising efforts. Oxfam supporter Joan Collins commented: 'You need only to look at disasters like Haiti to realise how much help charities need on an on-going basis. 'Compare for Good is a win-win opportunity for people to save themselves money while raising money for charity.' The charity estimates that the website could save customers an average of £150 on products such as home insurance, income protection and utilities bills. It is powered by Beat That Quote, the UK's fastest growing price comparison site. This news item is © CTT Copyright
