Tesco Mobile will launch a new internet site designed specifically for mobile phones, so that people can donate money while on the move. As well as offering fundraising hints and latest cancer research news, the site will also give users the chance to download exclusive wallpapers featuring daffodils, the emblem of the charity. Wallpaper downloads will cost £1.50, with 50p from every transaction being donated to MCCC. 'We run a mobile internet site for Tesco customers where anyone can read the latest news, sports and gossip as well as download ringtones and mobile games,' said Ashley Schofield, head of customer marketing at Tesco Mobile. 'With over 100,000 visitors every week we thought it would be a great place to raise awareness of Marie Curie Cancer Care and generate some extra donations.' The charity is currently organising a 2,000km cycle challenge from Warsaw to St Petersburg between August and September 2008 to help raise funds for cancer victims across the UK. The bike ride will mark the charity's 60th anniversary.
