McCartney helps disabled charity

Celebrity endorsement is often employed as a tactic by charities to both raise awareness of campaigns and boost fundraising efforts.

Paul McCartney is now putting his name to a fundraising effort by disability charity ParalympicsGB.

McCartney has featured in a TV advert that shows disabled athletes in action agaisnt the backdrop of the singer's Live and Let Die hit.

Responding to meeting paralympic horse rider Sophie Christiansen, the singer said: 'I was completely blown away by her skill, dedication and the fact that she had won a world championship gold medal for Britain.'

The fundraising target for the campaign is £2 million.
