The directory is designed to help fundraisers to improve their networking opportunities and increase fundraising. An extended version of the handbook is available on the institute's website and is divided into three categories. The first category is available to view to members only and lists individual, organisational and corporate members. A second section details a list of suppliers and advertisers and is available to anyone who visits the website. The final section lists any individual member consultants who pay additional feeds on their membership in order to agree to the terms and conditions. Joan Fisher, head of content and marketing at the institute, said that the new resource would benefit members. She said that the information and networking opportunities were presented in an easily accessible and instant format over the internet.
