FRSB celebrates reaching over 1,000 members19/03/09 The number of members joining the Fundraising Standards Board (FRSB) has now passed 1,000, it has emerged. Following a membership recruitment drive in January, 75 more charity organisations signed up with the self-regulatory body. Back in August, the FRSB revealed that it has set a target of attracting over 2,000 members by 2010, which has been revised down from around 5,000. Alistair McLean, chief executive of the FRSB, said that the recruitment campaign has clearly been having the desired impact. 'We've just had our best ever month for signing up new members and this month looks as if the growth is being maintained,' he explained. 'I'm hopeful that this momentum will continue as a result of our recruitment activity and that more potential members will see the benefits joining the scheme and signing up to self-regulation.' Supported by the Office of the Third Sector, the Welsh Assembly government and the Scottish government, the FRSB promotes high standards among fundraising organisations in the UK.
