In support of the Children's Hospice South West (CHSW), Marcus Trescothick will be batting for Keynsham Cricket Club, which is his home team and the place where he started his career, in a game against Somerset County Cricket Club. CHSW is in charge of running a care complex in north Devon. The organisation has also recently opened a new centre in Somerset, the Bath Chronicle reported. Speaking to the newspaper, Trescothick said: 'Obviously I have been back to the town many times since, but to return and play cricket for Keynsham once again, promises to be very special. No doubt my current Somerset team-mates will do their best to ensure that I don't score too many runs that day, however.' The 32-year-old will play alongside his father Martyn in the match, which is due to take place on August 29th. He has supported the hospice during his benefit year at Somerset and is planning to continue to support it in future. 'People have been very generous in their support for CHSW, and I am both pleased and humbled to have been able to help in a very small way,' he commented. Trescothick officially retired from International cricket in March this year after representing England in 123 One Day Internationals and over 75 test matches.
