Charity gives grant for schools IT home-learning

11/07/08

Schools will be the beneficiary of a £1.5 million grant from the e-Learning Foundation charity, thirdsector.co.uk has reported.

The grant will be awarded to primary and secondary schools to help them fund projects that would give pupils computer access at home.

Potential beneficiaries are being asked to submit applications for grants. The charity has said that priority will be given to schools from disadvantaged areas.

All children will be eligible for the scheme, regardless of their financial situation. According to the charity, 2.5 million schoolchildren in the UK do not have access to a computer at home.
