Charities can use new website to receive donations

13/05/08

A marketing agency has developed a scheme over the internet which aids the fundraising process for charities, Third Sector reported yesterday (Monday, May 12th).

Donors are able to commemorate someone who has passed away using a website built by Our Lasting Tribute, the specialist tribute giving division of Whitewater.

As well as offering a place for remembrance, the website allows visitors to make donations on the page of their chosen charity.

When joining the scheme, charities are assigned their own web page, allowing them to manage their tribute funds online.

Kevin Kibble, managing director of Our Lasting Tribute, told Third Sector: 'This is a major step forward in tribute giving and puts the donor at the heart of the programme.

'This web platform has been designed to be accessible to most sizes of organisation. It is a low-cost, easily administered method of introducing the enormous potential of tribute fundraising.'
