A new charity fundraising service has been launched by Virgin Money16/10/09 Written by Isabel Griffith A new charity fundraising service, Virgin Money Giving, has been launched this week by sir Richard Branson. The chairman of the Virgin Group also announced a new competition to support charity - he has confirmed he will run the 2010 London Marathon and is searching for a running partner to help his meet the Virgin Money target of helping all runners make £250 million over five years for charities. 'Virgin Money Giving is a company I am very proud of and I don't think there's a better way of showing my commitment than to undertake the 26.2 miles myself,' he said. He added that he believes company profits can be used to do something positive for society and that Virgin Money Giving is an example of this. The site operates as a not for profit online giving service in order to keep costs to charities down. He added that it is only charities that should benefit from the hard work of their fundraisers.
