Wiltshire business boosts charity communications for local children's group19/02/10 Written by Isabel Griffith. A small children's charity based in Wiltshire is praising the power of technology to boost charity communications after it was supported by a local business. The Cheka Sana Children's Trust aims to support young people in Tanzania and became a registered charity in July 2009, the Swindon Advertiser reports. However, the organisation was struggling financially until it secured the support of a local IT firm. Netintent designed and hosted a website for the organisation free of charge, boosting its charity communications and supporting its operations in Tanzania. Founder Dani Durston told the newspaper: 'We were really struggling with funds and stuff and a Swindon company stepped in and designed and hosted our website.' 'It normally costs hundreds of pounds and they're also basically running the website for us,' she continued. The Cheka Sana Children's Trust aims to use the website to raise awareness of the Caretakers of the Environment Tanzania project, which operates an orphanage and a sports programme and hopes to set up a day care centre in the near future. In other news, Oxfam has launched a new website that allows users to compare prices on financial products while also donating to charity called Compare for Good. This news item is © CTT Copyright
