Website boosts third sector communications for GWT22/12/2009 Written by Sally O'Connell. An organisation is looking to improve its charity communications through the launch of a new website. The Gurkha Welfare Trust (GWT) has commissioned a new website designed by Totally Communications that could improve its links with donors and supporters online. It showcases the history of the Gurkhas and explains the charity's pension scheme for ex-servicemen, as well as featuring photo and video galleries and a donation area. Totally Communications client services director Toby Mason said: 'The website not only portrays the history and values of the Gurkha community, but also uses video and audio to bring their amazing stories to life.' Mr Mason also noted that the new website will be used to boost charity fundraising for the trust's Debt of Honour campaign, which aims to generate £10 million to help 10,000 Gurkhas and their widows and was launched by actress Joanna Lumley last week. The GWT was set up in 1969 after it was realised that many soldiers who had served in the Second World War were not eligible for an army pension. This news item is © CTT Copyright
