Funding Central offers charity communications platform

A third sector website is using technology to develop charity communications.

Funding Central, run by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO), has added a new platform that encourages collaboration between charities looking to secure funding and contracts.

Graham Collins, sustainable funding programme manager at NCVO, commented: 'With more and more organisations wanting to collaborate, this will help users find those who want to work together on a project or who are looking to put in joint bids for funding and contract opportunities.'

Organisations that wish to collaborate with others can share details about their aims and experiences of funding applications in the third sector.

Funding Central was founded with the intention of providing a platform for third sector organisations, allowing them to search for relevant grants, funding and contracts, as well as keep up to date with funding news and communicate with each other.

The charity communications website, which is funded by the Office of the Third Sector, opened on June 17th and now boasts almost 8,000 registered users, attracting thousands of unique hits per day.
