Drinkaware boosts charity communication with online survey and new website01/12/2009 Written by Isabel Griffith. An alcohol awareness organisation is using the internet to boost its charity communications. Drinkaware, which is funded by drinks manufacturers and retailers, today (December 1st) launched the largest ever survey of the UK's drinking habits. Working with online alcohol unit calculators provided by Yahoo and MSN, the organisation will seek to collect data about how Brits drink over the Christmas period with a view to highlighting the risks of excessive consumption. Charity communication could also be raised by the organisation's new website, which it has revamped this month. Drinkaware chief executive Chris Sorek said: 'Christmas is a fun time of year and it's there to be enjoyed, so we at Drinkaware intend to increase levels of awareness of units and unit guidelines to make sure that people can make the most of the season.' The organisation will also boost its charity communications by running a series of live events in Leeds, Glasgow, Birmingham and London, offering advice and information from December 10th. Teaching resources, research statistics, factsheets for under 18s, interviews with young people and useful links are all available on the Drinkaware website. This news item is © CTT Copyright
