The charity is hoping that companies involved with the campaign will sign a Commitment to Face Equality. This commitment is designed to encourage employers to treat those with facial disfigurements fairly when recruiting for or working with them. Speaking about the company's involvement in the campaign, John Varley, chief executive of the Barclays Group, said he wanted to 'create an inclusive work environment where all candidates, including those with facial disfigurements, view Barclays as a good employer'. Mr Varley and the whole of the Barclays Group have pledged to work with changing faces to ensure HR policies within the company prevent discrimination towards those with facial disfigurement. Their recruitment processes will also be updated and the organisation will adopt a drive to actively target facially disfigured candidates. Changing Faces estimates there are 540,000 people in the UK who have facial disfigurements.
