Charity website offers pub PR kit to boost charity communications01/10/2009 Written by Isabel Griffith. A charity is using its website in a bid to help pubs in the UK improve their charity communications. Pub Aid, which aims to 'right the wrongs written and spoken about the [pub] sector', has released a downloadable public relations kit for pub owners on its site. The document, entitled How to PR Your Pub, aims to teach publicans how they can promote their charity events and the amount they have raised for charitable causes in a bid to promote positive news about the sector. A spokesman told the Morning Advertiser: 'The new PR download section of the website has been created to provide licensees with the all the information they require to generate their own positive news stories about the good done their pub for charities and other local causes.' The move is part of a wider trend among non-profit organisations to use technologies such as the internet to boost their charity communications. According to Pub Aid, the sector raises £114 million for charity every year. This news item is © CTT Copyright
