Charity offers guidance for families online

23/05/08

A children's charity in the US is using the internet to expand its reach and promote its message amongst a wider audience.

KidsPeace, which created National Family Month in America, is seeking to encourage better relationships between families by offering expert tips and free resources on its two websites.

Through these sites, the charity hopes to highlight the importance of family members enjoying quality time together, particularly during National Family Month, which focuses on different themes each year.

Dr Lorrie Henderson, acting president of KidsPeace, commented: 'National Family Month is an opportunity to talk with our kids about the issues that most affect us and our family lives together.'

'We urge every family to get involved, add to your family, or enjoy rediscovering in some new way the most important people in their lives.'

In related news, Credit Action and One Parent Families/Gingerbread recently launched an online manual aimed at helping cash-strapped single parents.
