CancerCare launches advice booklet on website08/05/08 CancerCare announced recently that it has launched a free new booklet, available via the internet, which is aimed at helping cancer patients. 'Understanding Peripheral Neuropathy' can be ordered or downloaded from the organisation's website and offers advice on how to better handle the discomfort associated with cancer treatments such as chemotherapy. Receivers of cancer treatment can suffer from peripheral neuropathy, a painful condition which can also be caused by various other health problems. Among the tips offered, the organisation advises sufferers of peripheral neuropathy that they can reduce symptoms by taking medication early. Diane Blum, executive director of CancerCare, commented: 'Symptoms of peripheral neuropathy vary depending on which kinds of nerves are involved.' 'For many patients, though, this condition really affects their quality of life and ability to carry out their usual activities.'
