19/08/08 - Former England cricketer bats for charity 15/08/08 - Video content vital for social networking 14/08/08 - Youth charity launches improved website Water fundraiser18/06/08 A campaign has been launched by a charity which hopes to both encourage people to use tap water at the same time as raise money for third world projects. The campaign, Tap, is using the sale of stickers that remind consumers to drink tap water to help fund water projects in the developing world. Speaking to charity website, Third Sector, Joshua Blackburn, founder of Tap, explained that bottled water costs between 240 and 10,000 times as much as tap. Mr Blackburn said: 'The bottled water industry is a triumph of marketing over common sense.' 'It has become a symbol of our disposable culture at its dumbest. In countries such as Britain, where high quality water is literally on tap, it's time to bin the bottle.' Consumers will also be asked to take a 'tap challenge' to see if they can spot the difference between water from a bottle and from a tap. A large percentage of profits from the fundraising scheme will go to help water projects in countries that have a severe shortage.
