Unofficial advocates are launching appeals on sites such as Facebook and this is causing problems as charities are unaware of the campaigns, the Guardian reported. Tom Mansel-Pleydel, head of client services at JustGiving, said: 'It used to be a charity's relationship with people started when they became donors but now it can start before they even know about it.' Mr Mansel-Pleydel gave the example of a boy who has posted a video on YouTube supporting the BBC's Children in Need. The page generated 160,000 views and therefore a lot of publicity.
