Social networking helps users to boost charity campaigning04/09/09 Written by Isabel Griffith. Social networking offers a host of applications geared towards charity campaigning and fundraising, it has been stated. Barb Dybwad of Mashable.com has created a list of several applications for popular social networking website Facebook that can be used to raise the profile of worthwhile causes. Top of Ms Dybwad's list is Cause, one of the best known plug-ins that enables users to join or set up good causes with a view to improving charity campaigning and brand awareness. SocialVibe is another popular application that helps users to raise funds for non-profits by creating a link on their profile page that others can interact with. Also available on WordPress, MySpace and other popular social media sites, SocialVibe encourages web surfers to share sponsors with friends to earn donations and stay updated with a charity's operations and campaigns. Each time a user interacts with another person's SocialVibe application, they build up points for a specified organisation, helping to improve charity campaigning and fundraising at the same time. Meanwhile , the GoRecycle411 application lets users input the amount of material they have recycled on any given day and calculates how much energy they have saved This news item is © CTT Copyright
