19/08/08 - Former England cricketer bats for charity 15/08/08 - Video content vital for social networking 14/08/08 - Youth charity launches improved website Facebook helps spread the green message04/06/08 Charities are increasingly looking at social networking sites to help spread their message to the masses and Greenpeace is the latest to make the most of the technology. Third Sector announced in May that Greenpeace has built an application to encourage festival-goers at Glastonbury to reuse and recycle anything they use whilst there. Developed by web design agency Rechord, the application rewards Facebookers that encourage their friends to sign up to the Greener Glastonbury Giveaway. The people who get the most friends to join the campaign will get free festival entry. There are six pairs of tickets on offer to incentivise visitors to the site. 'Leave No Trace' is the name of Glastonbury's 'green' campaign and the Facebook application is helping to promote Greenpeace's involvement in the campaign which emphasises both organisations green credentials. Greenpeace are a charity that 'stands for positive change through action' and has been campaigning against environmental degradation since 1971.
