Charity provides advice online10/06/08 As more charities look to technology to help increase fundraising, a number are now hoping to employ it to get their messages across cost-effectively. The British Red Cross yesterday (June 9th) announced that it will be promoting its health and safety training courses via an online brochure. In addition to cutting costs, producing the brochure electronically is, they say, 'reducing environmental waste'. Those that download the iBrochure will also receive advice on first aid legislation in the work place and are reminded that all businesses must provide proper first aid for employees that are injured or become ill at work. Red Cross employees think that the legislation is confusing. It states that there must be provision for first-aid but fails to state how many trained staff a business should have. Employers are being warned by the Red Cross charity that under The Corporate Manslaughter and Homicide Act, it is possible to be prosecuted if bad health and safety management led to a fatality.
