The Comic Relief grants come from money raised by Red Nose Day and 'make up the charity's biggest grants fund', thirdsector.co.uk reported. Comic Relief will focus their efforts on those in the following areas: young people, older people, mental health, refugees and asylum seekers, domestic violence and those in disadvantaged communities. Those that have been successful in applying for a grant will be announced within five months of the closing date and those hoping to receive a grant for any amount under £5,000 will not be restricted by a deadline. Thirdsector.co.uk reported that BBC Children in Need will be giving £37 million in grants to various projects across the country. This week will see £17,134,908 distributed to 511 projects.
