Breast cancer treatment tool could improve charity campaigning05/03/10 Written by Matthew Carter. The Breast Cancer Society has launched a new website aimed at boosting charity campaigning for its cause. The organisation's Cancer Profiler site is a free service that provides breast cancer patients with tailored advice and support, ranging from explanations of conditions and treatments to questions an individual should ask their doctor. According to the society, the tool covers invasive ductal breast cancer, lobular breast cancer and ductal carcinoma in situ, as well as offering limited information on inflammatory breast cancer. The website could boost the organisation's charity campaigning and encourage more people with breast cancer to explore and learn about their condition. It states: 'These tools provide you with information specific to your cancer diagnosis to help you make more informed treatment decisions along with your physician. Advice offered through the website is based on 'scientific medical journals and is continuously updated by experts in cancer research and treatment'. Users can also choose to receive a treatment outcome report, which provides information about studies into various treatments. The Breast Cancer Society is based in Mesa, Arizona.
