BBC extends entry period for Lifeline appeals11/07/08 Charities can still apply for the Radio 4 and BBC One Lifeline appeals due to be broadcast next summer. The BBC has extended the deadline to July 24th so that more charities will have the opportunity to apply. A different charity is featured each week in celebrity endorsed appeals designed to raise public awareness and funds. Contact the Elderly, recently ran an appeal with Jonathan Ross. Lee Lloyd, fundraising manager at the charity said: 'The appeal raised more than £3,000, generated in excess of 100 enquiries from potential volunteers and even encouraged some isolated people to contact us for support.'
