Direct Debit Bureau Services for charities
| “We have been very impressed with the professionalism and support CTT have given us. It has enabled us to launch our first ever regular giving campaign and to process the direct debits with no fuss or extra costs involved. I would certainly recommend CTT's Direct Debit Bureau Services to other clients.” The Crossroads Association |

What is the Bureau service?
CTT offers ( via its commercial partner RSM 2000 Limited) a range of direct debit services to charities who wish to outsource the processing of their direct debits:
- Direct Debit Bureau Transfer Service – this service is for charities who process direct debits under an existing bureau arrangement. The charity’s Origination Number for Direct Debits is transferred to our sponsoring high street bank and the same bureau service is provided.
- Direct Debit Bureau New User Service – this is for charities who have not previously processed direct debits and now wish to do so under their own Origination Number. The sponsoring high street bank provides an Origination Number and the Bureau sets up the processing and collection of the Direct Debits.
- Payments are collected under the charity’s own Origination Number and monies paid directly into the charity’s bank account. The charity applies for an Origination Number from its own bank.
- Full Direct Debit liability carried by the charity.
- BACS reports sent directly to the charity.
- If the charity is registered only for Paper Direct Debit then the charity sends completed mandates to the charity’s bank, with no modulus check of bank details.
- If the charity is registered for Paperless Direct Debit, then the file of new customer details is sent to the Bureau for transmission to BACS, with modulus checking taking place at point of transmission. The charity is responsible for confirmation of the Direct Debit set-up to customers.
- Database of Direct Debit collections and customers to be maintained by the charity.
