1. What is the difference between the aggregated and non-aggregated options?
The aggregated option is where you can benefit from a special rate we have negotiated with Barclays Merchant Services for all charities, irrespective of their size or volumes.
However, if you select this option and do not currently bank with Barclays, you will have to go through ALL THE SAME CHECKS AND PROVIDE ALL THE SAME INFORMATION AS YOU WOULD PROVIDE if you were opening a new business bank account. In other words, more forms to fill in and a longer time.
2. What do we need to complete personal information forms, even if we select the non-aggregated option?
Everyone now has to complete a personal information form, even if they bank with the same bank already, when they are taking out a new service requiring a separate ID number. This is all because of the Government regulations concerning fraud and laundering. You only need to provide the name and home address and date of birth of two cheque signatories, no other information or ID is needed.
3. What is a Payment Gateway?
This is the secure internet gateway through which card transactions pass and are authorised by the Merchant Bank and the results of the validation confirmed back.

7. How long does it take, once the forms are completed?
