The Impact Of The CTX Donation The CTX donation has resulted in up-to-date software being installed and used across the organisation. A new office has also been equipped with Small Business Server. “We’re just very grateful for the programme. Had we not been able to reduce our IT expenditure then we would have had to reduce our budget on other things.” The Matthew Project Case Study 2: The Ground Floor Project About The Charity The charity is based in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire and provides, develops, supports and sustains community-led initiatives particularly to benefit disadvantaged people in the region. The charity has one full- and one part-time employee supporting a total of 32 people working across their various initiatives. Their core income is just £60-70,000. What The Charity Received Through CTX
The Impact Of The CTX Donation The CTX donation has resulted in far better IT provision and training for local people and groups, along with a fully networked community centre. “The fact that we could get so many user licenses was invaluable to an organisation like ours. So many of the initiatives and groups need to use PCs - or offer their use. [And] we couldn’t have afforded the quality of Cisco for networking our office building. Now we’ll be able to show people volunteering opportunities on the web and offer training courses on web design.” The Ground Floor Project Case Study 3: Derby Law Centre About The Charity The charity is based in Derby and has recently merged with the local Citizens Advice Bureau to provide a one-stop shop offering free legal advice and representation to residents of the city. It has around 35 members of staff and a turnover of around £2.25million. What The Charity Received Through CTX
The Impact Of The CTX Donation The CTX donation provides a robust technical backbone for the newly combined legal facility. “It’s questionable whether the server we currently have could cope with an organisation double the size. And we certainly haven’t been running the latest software. We need to show that we’ll give people the same level of service and professionalism that they’d get from any mainstream solicitors - and you don’t get that by sending file attachments with old versions of free software. We spent time considering open-source and Linux, but then the Microsoft/CTX programme came along. It was perfect timing." Derby Law Centre |
