Inceptor's Excedia Reveals 60-80% Online Conversion Rates and Proves Email Marketing Returns While Reducing Overhead for Non-Profits

MAYNARD, Massachusetts - May 28, 2002 - Inceptor®, Inc., the pioneer in conversion marketing, and Charity Technology Trust (CTT), a philanthropic venture that offers technology services to other charities, today announced that Inceptor's Excedia™ conversion marketing software is adding tremendous value to the charities now utilizing CTT Raffles for fundraising over the Internet in the United Kingdom. Launched in October 2001, CTT Raffles allow charities to produce and distribute raffle tickets online. Inceptor's Excedia is used by CTT Raffles to test the online marketing mix, track results and provide reports to fifteen charities including Oxfam International, The Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society, The National Trust.

By utilizing CTT's online Raffles rather than traditional paper-based raffles, charities are able to reduce costs by nearly 60% as well as reduce campaign durations. And because Inceptor's Excedia provides detailed tracking and reporting on all campaigns and donations, charities are able to clearly understand the value and return of each campaign, and better target and personalize future fundraising efforts. This ability is expected to increase both overall donations per campaign and increase the lifetime value (LTV) of each donor to the charities.

Inceptor's Excedia has helped prove the viability of email marketing for charities, generating results that have surprised skeptics. CTT Raffles can send between 20K and 100K emails per campaign, all of which are tracked through Excedia. Recipients can choose the level of donation they'd like to make, corresponding to the number of tickets they'd like to buy. Conversion rates vary based on list source, with charities' in-house lists generating between 60%-80% conversion, at an average of £10-15 ($15-20 US) per donation. Excedia enables CTT Raffles to easily determine the most effective donation range to generate the highest conversion rate on a per charity, per campaign basis. With the help of Excedia, CTT Raffles' raffle engine is expected to enable UK charities to accrue more than £20 million ($30 million US) in additional funds to be distributed to good causes.

"Inceptor's Excedia provides detailed campaign results in a simple, graphical format that's really useful to the charities we support," said Bernie Thurston, CTT's CTO, "and yet the data itself is so rich that it is potentially more valuable to a charity than individual donations, because it enables the building of long-term relationships with donors."

"Excedia is an ideal solution because it requires little technical expertise to set up and manage a variety of online campaigns," said Deb Pappas, SVP of Marketing and Customer Relationship Management at Inceptor. "We're thrilled to see Excedia supporting such good causes."
